New for 2026!

Expanded opportunities for young artists with a flexible new format: a full 6-week session or two 3-week options with the Strings Program now spanning six weeks, and the Piano Program spanning three weeks.

Madeline Island Chamber Music offers more than world-class chamber music training—it’s an unforgettable summer experience. Students live and learn in a close-knit campus surrounded by Lake Superior’s natural beauty, with comfortable cottages, dedicated practice and rehearsal spaces, and welcoming dining facilities. Between rehearsals and performances, you can enjoy kayaking, hiking, swimming, and exploring the island’s vibrant summer community. Our staff and counselors create a safe, supportive environment where you can focus on music, forge lasting friendships, and experience the unique rhythm of island life.

Weather on Madeline Island is widely variable, especially in June; temperatures can range from 40°F-90°F.
